Humphrey English Bone China Mug

£22.00
sold out

Mr. Hepburn’s Notes:

Humphrey (In office October 1989 – November 1997)

Humphrey was a distinguished resident at 10 Downing Street, quietly observing the arrival and departure of three Prime Ministers: Margaret Thatcher, John Major and Tony Blair.

Humphrey resolved many crises within Number 10 but on occasion he courted controversy; most notably when he was wrongly accused of killing four young robins. The incumbent Prime Minister, Mr. John Major, leapt to Humphrey’s defence, stating, ‘I am afraid Humphrey has been falsely accused’. This exoneration of Humphrey was a rare and remarkable instance of a politician publicly defending a civil servant.

This limited edition mug is made of Fine English Bone China, made and hand decorated in Longton, Stoke on Trent. It can be hand washed or washed in a dishwasher.

Dimensions: Height 93mm, Diameter 79mm, Capacity 275ml.
